SOLUTION

GIVEN

A = {x.x is the multiple of 3 between 5 and 20 which is also divisible by 9

B = {x:x is a positive integer and is a divisor of 18}

TO DETERMINE

(1) Find A-B and B-A. What do you observe?

Also represent this problem through venn diagram.

EVALUATION

Here it is given that

A = {x.x is the multiple of 3 between 5 and 20 which is also divisible by 9 }

∴ A = { 9 , 18 }

B = {x:x is a positive integer and is a divisor of 18}

∴ B = { 1 , 2 , 3 , 6 , 9 , 18 }

Venn diagram : Venn diagram is referred to the attachment

We see that

A - B = Φ

B - A = { 1 , 2 , 3 , 6 }
