∴ 200 litre of solution contains → 200 X 50 X 103 = 107 mg

CaCO3 equivalent = 107X1022X58.5=109117=8.55X10−3X109=8.55X106 mg of CaCO3 equivalent

Now, 1 litre of water → 50 ppm

∴ x → 8.55 X 106

∴ x=8.55X10650 = 0.171 X 106 litres of water

∴ 171 X 103 litres of water can be softened by zeolite softener.
