A1, A2, A3 and A are ammeters connected in the circuit. B1, B2 and B3 are three identical bulbs. they all are connected to voltage source as shown in figure. When the three bulbs are working good and glowing, the current recorded in ammeter A is 6 ampere. Answer the following questions.
a) same amount of current will go through each bulb and the value is 2 ampere. True or False
b) if the bulb B3 is blown away, the bulb B1 and B2 will start glowing more. True or False
c) what will happen to all the ammeter reading if bulb B1 is blown away
d) the current shown in ammeter A remains even any bulb goes down. True or False

Answer: Statement (a) is true while (b) and (d) are false. Reading of ammeter becomes 4 A if bulb B3 goes down.

Explanation:

(a)  All the three bulbs with respective ammeters are connected in parallel and they are identical. Hence, equal current flows in all branches.

Current in each branch = I

Net current in circuit = 3I

ATQ,

3I = 6

Therefore,

I = 2

Hence, the statement is True

(b) As they are connected in parallel , any change in a particular will  not affect current or power in any other branch. Hence, the statement is False

(c) New ammeter reading = 2 + 2 = 4 Ampere

(d) Reading of Ammeter A = Sum of current in all branches, hence the reading will change if any bulb goes down.

The given statement is False.
