Shimla is one of the most beautiful cities of India. It is the capital city of
Himachal Pradesh. The city is named after the goddess Shyamala Devi, an
incarnation of the Hindu Goddess, Kali. Till 1947, it was the summer capital of
the British Raj in India. A popular tourist destination, Shimla is often referred
to as the 'Queen of Hills'. The city of Himalayas is located in the north-west
Himalayas
Shimla has a number of places to visit. Local hangouts like the Mall Road
and the Ridge are in the heart of the city. There are a number old temples and
churches. Further out from the city is Kufri, a Sky Resort and Lakkar Bazzar.
Tatta Pani, is the name of hot sulphur springs that are believed to have medicinal
value located on the bank of the river Satluj.
