LET SON AGE=X YEARS
THEN FATHER AGE=3X YEARS

AFTER 15 YEARS SON AGE=(X+15)YEARS
AFTER 15 YEARS FATHER AGE=(3X+15)YEARS

A/Q
FATHER WILL (TWICE THE SON)
THEN
(3X+15)=2(X+15)
3X+15=2X+30
3X-2X=30-15
X=15 YEARS

SON AGE=15 YEARS
FATHER AGE=3X=15×3=45 YEARS

SON AGE=15years
FATHER AGE=45years

Let the present age of father be x
and the present age of son be y

According to the question,
(present age of father)=3(present age of son)
x = 3y ------------------(1)
or
y=x/3 -------------------(2)
After 15 years,
the age of the father will be = x+15
and the age of the son will be = y+15
(age of father after 15 years) = 2 (age of son after 15 years)
x+15 = 2 (y+15)
x +15 = 2y+30
x -2y = 30 - 15
x - 2y=15-------------------(3)
putting value of x = 3y in (3) equation,
3y - 2y =15
y = 15
putting y =15 in (2) equation
y = x/3
15 = x/3
(15) 3 = x
45 = x

Hence the present age of father is 45 years,
and the present age of son is 15 years.
