Aaron is twice as old as Charlie. Three years from now, the
sum of their ages will be 33. Find their present
ages.

Let Charlie's age = x

Aaron's age = 2x

After 3 years,

Charlie's age = x+3

Aaron's age = 2x +3

(x+3) +(2x+3) = 33

3x+6 = 33

3x = 33 - 6

x = 27/3

x = 9

Therefore,

Charlie's age = 9

Aaron's age = 18
