∆ABC~∆ADE .if AE=2cm,EC=3cm and DE=1.6cm ,then find BC.

We have two similar triangle ABC and ADE ,

And

AE  =  2 cm

EC  =  3 cm

DE  =  1.6 cm

And we know from "  Thales theorem  "

AC\DE = AC\BC

Here AC  =  AE  +  EC  =  2  +  3  =  5 cm  , So

2/1.6 = 5/x  ,



2x=1.6×5

x  = 1.6  × 5/2  =  4 

SO,

BC  =  4 cm 

An$:- BC=4 cm
