angle CBD=angle CDB ( given that BC=CD)

In ∆CBD

angle BCD=90°

BCD+CBD+CDB=180° (Angle Sum Property of ∆)

90°+2CBD=180°

2CBD=180°-90°=90°

CBD=90°/2=45°

angle CBD=45°

Given that ABC is straight line

 {42}^{0}  +  \alpha  +  {45}^{0}  =  {180}^{0}

 \alpha  =  {180}^{0}  - ( {42}^{0} +  {45}^{0} ) \\  \alpha  =  {180}^{0}  -  {87}^{0}  =  {93}^{0}

Alpha = 93°
