ABC is a triangle, right angled at C. If AB = 25 cm and AC = 7 cm, find BC.

By Pythagoras theorem,

H2 = P2+B2

AB2=AC2+BC2

(25 cm)2=(7 cm)2+BC2

625 cm2=49 cm2 + BC2

BC2=(625-49) cm2

BC2=576 cm2

BC=√576 cm2

BC=24 cm.
