ABC is a triangle right angled at c if angle a =60 degrees and ab = 30 cm find the length of AC​

From the figure,

\sf{cos 60^{\circ} = \dfrac{AC}{AB}}\\\\\\\implies \sf{\dfrac{1}{2} = \dfrac{AC}{30}}\\\\\\\implies \sf{2AC = 30}\\\\\\\implies \sf{AC = \dfrac{30}{2}}\\\\\\\implies \boxed{\bf{AC = 15 \: cm}}

Additional Information:

For an angle θ

  • sin is always the Opposite side divided by Hypotenuse
  • cos is always Adjacent Side divided by Hypotenuse
  • tan is always Opposite side divided by Adjacent Side
