here, ac = perpendicular=6cm
bc = base=8cm
ab = hypotenuse=??
By Pythagorean theoram,
=> (hypotenuse)²=(base)²+(perpendicular)²
=> (h)²= (8)² + (6)²
=> (h)²= 64 + 36
=> (h)²= 100
=> h=√100
=> h=10
hence ,the length of ab =10cm

Answer:

The length of Hypotenuse AB = 10cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Pythagoras theorem:

  • Pythagoras has given a formula for a right angled triangle to find the sides of the triangle.
  • Formula:

           (Hypotenuse)² = (adjacent side)² + (opposite side)²

      Let ABC is a right angled triangle with right angle at C.

           also AC = 6cm and BC = 8cm

        In the given triangle,

  • AC is the Adjacent side,
  • BC is the Opposite side and
  • AB is the Hypotenuse.

         Let Hypotenuse = AB = x cm

             Adjacent side = AC = 6cm

            Opposite side = BC = 8cm

   Now apply Pythagoras theorem,

      (AB)² = (AC)² + (BC)²

           x² = 6² + 8²

           x² = 36 + 64

            x² = 100

            x = √100

            x = 10 cm

     Hypotenuse AB = 10 cm

   The values 6, 8, 10 are called as Pythagorean triplets.

    Hence, the length of Hypotenuse AB = 10cm.
