Given

  • The ratio of the two sides is 3:4
  • The perimeter is 350 m

To find:

The sides of the parallelogram.

Let sides be 3x and 4x

Something about parallelogram

  • The opposite sides of the parallelogram are equal.
  • The adjacent angles sum is 180°, i.e. Supplementary angles
  • The opposite sides are equal

So,

Two sides are 3x m each

and the other two sides are 4x m each

Now

The perimeter of the parallelogram

= Sum of all four sides

⇒ 350 = 3x + 3x + 4x + 4x

⇒ 350 = 14x

⇒ 350 ÷ 14 = x

[By taking 14 to LHS]

⇒ 25 = x

So the sides of the parallelogram are

3x = 3 * 25 = 75 m

And 4x = 4 * 25 = 100 m

Hence

  • The sides of the parallelogram are 75m, 75, 100m, and 100m.
