ABCD is a rectangle. Given AB=30cm, BC=x-y, CD=x+y, DA=14cm. Find the value of x and y.

Given,
AB = 30cm
BC = x-y
CD = x+y
DA = 14cm.

Hence,
we know that :-
In quadrilateral the sum of opposite side are equal :-

AB+ BC= CD+DA
30 + (x-y) = (x+y) + 14 -----(¡)
30 +x- y = x+ y + 14
30 -14 = 2y
16 = 2y
y = 8cm

On putting the value of y in equation(¡) we get :-

30 + (x-y) =0
=. 30 + (x-8)=0
=. 30+ x-8=0
=. x = 22 answer....
