ABCD is a rectangle in which length is double of its breadth. Two equilateral triangles are drawn one each in length and breadth. Find the ratio of their areas.

According the question,we get Length= double of breadth, that means ,l=2b,let abcd be the rectangle.AB= CD=2b.AD=BC=b equilateral triangles are drawn on l and b,for triangle drawn on l, all sides=2b, for triangle drawn on b, all sides= b, we know that  equilateral triangles are similar therefore ratio of area of triangles = square of ratio of sides=2b/b, the whole square= 4/1, therefore the ratio is 4:1.
