ABCD is a square of side 14cm. 2 semicircle are drawn on the side of AB and BC(inside the square ). This 2 semicircle will intersect at one point and name as P. Find the shaded region. (When two semicircles intersect, a concave mirror PB will be formed that we have to find)

Sides of square = 14cm

Area of square = (side)² = (14)² = 196cm².

Diameter of two semicircle = Side of square = 14cm.

Radius of two semicircle = D/2 = 14/2 = 7cm

Area of two semicircle = 2(1/2πr²)

= 2×(1/2×22/7×7×7) = 2×(1/2×22×7)

= 2×77 = 154cm²

Therefore,

Area of shaded region = 154cm²
