ABCD is a trapezium in which AB is parallel to DC . P and Q are points on sides AD and BC such that PQ is parallel to AB .if PD=18,BQ=35, and QC=15,then find AD.

vatsal: since PQ
vatsal: since PQ || AB thus , PQ || DC ...... therefore PQ || AB|| DC........ NOW , BY applying the equal intercept theorem... we can say........ (PA/PD) = (QB/QC) ..............ON solving this we'll further get....... PA = (PD x QB) / QC................... Substituting the values we get.............. PA = ( 18 x 35) / 15 = 42....... we also derive from the figure that AD = PA + PD = 42+ 18 = 60........ IS THE ANSWER CORRECT???
