Area of triangle ECD is 72\sqrt{3} cm^2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Side of regular Hexagon = 12 cm

We need to find the area of Triangle ECD.

We have Drawn the hexagon for your reference.

Now we know that all sides of hexagon are same.

Also when diagonals of hexagon are joint they make 6 equilateral triangles.

Triangle ECD will consist of 2 equilateral triangles.

Since Area of equilateral triangle is given by root 3 by 4 times side square.

Now Triangle ECD will consist of 2 equilateral triangles.

Area of Triangle ECD = 2\times \frac{\sqrt{3} }{4} \times 12\times 12 = 72\sqrt{3} cm^2

Hence Area of triangle ECD is 72\sqrt{3} cm^2.
