Abdul while driving to school computer the baverage velocity speed for his trip to be 20 km/hr. on his return trip along the same route, there is less traffic and the average speed is 40 km hr. what is the average speed for Abdul's trip?

let the distance between school and abdul be x,

while going  v1=20=x/t1

while returning v2=30=x/t2

average speed = 2x/(x/20)-(x/30)
                         = 2x/((3x-2x)/60)
                         = 2x*60/3x
                         = 80/3
                         = 26.6 km/hr
