Let the distance covered be X km
Time taken when speed= 20km/h = distance/speed = X/20h
Similarly, Time taken when speed= 30km/h = X/30h
Now, total distance = X+X = 2X km
Total time = X/20+X/30 h = 5X/60 h
Therefore, Average speed = Total distance/total time=2X/(5X/60) km/h = 24km/h.
Time taken when speed= 20km/h = distance/speed = X/20h
Similarly, Time taken when speed= 30km/h = X/30h
Now, total distance = X+X = 2X km
Total time = X/20+X/30 h = 5X/60 h
