Answer :-

Let us assume that, total capital is Rs.100x .

so,

→ Total profit = 8% of 100x = (8 * 100x)/100 = Rs.8x .

now,

→ Out of total profit abhi recived = (3/8) of 8x = Rs.3x .

and,

→ If total profit is 16% = (16 * 100x)/100 = Rs.16x .

→ Abhi recived = (3/8) of 16x = Rs.6x .

A/q,

→ 6x - 3x = 420

→ 3x = 420

→ x = 140

then,

→ Total capital = 100x = 140 * 100 = Rs.14000 .

therefore,

→ Abhi invested = (3/8) of 14000 = Rs.5250 .{ As profit gets in the ratio of their investment. }

then,

→ Left amount (invested by Rahul and rola equally) = 14000 - 5250 = Rs.8750

hence,

→ Capital invested by rola = 8750/2 = Rs.4375 (Ans.)
