Answer:

No. of hours Abhishek typed on Sunday = 50 = 5

30 3

No. of hours Abhishek typed on Monday = 50 = 5

20 2

Total hours of typing = 5 + 5 = 25

3 2 6

Total pages typed = 50 + 50 = 100

Average rate of typing = 100 = 6 × 4 = 24

25

6

Hence, Abhishek Jain typed 24 pages per hour.

Given:

On Sunday:

Pages typed= 50;

Rate = 30 pages/hr

On Monday:

Pages typed=50

Rate=20 Pages/hr

To Find:

Average typing rate.

Solution:

Time taken on Sunday=\frac{total pages}{rate}

                                     =\frac{50}{30}

                                     =\frac{5}{3} hrs

Time taken on Monday=\frac{total pages }{rate}

                                      =\frac{50}{20}

                                      =\frac{5}{2} hrs.

Total Pages =50+50

                    =100

Total Time= \frac{5}{3} +\frac{5}{2}

                 =\frac{25}{6} hrs.

Average rate= \frac{total pages}{total time}

                     =\frac{100}{\frac{25}{6} }

                     =24

Hence Average Rate of Typing is 24 pages per hour.
