Abody travelling between two positions travels first half of the time with velocity v1 & next half of the time with velocity v2. The average velocity for the total motion is? Explain with all the steps.

answer will be V1+ V2 /2

total displacement in first half will be t V1

total displacement in second half will be t V2

so total displacement will be t (V1+ V2 )

total time will be 2t

therefore average velocity will be total displacement /total time

it will be t(V1 + V2 ) / 2t that is V1 + V2 / 2
