About 2.5g of ferrous sulphate crystal were heated. After heating for one minute. (a) What change in colour of ferrous sulphate crystal would you observe? On smelling the gases carefully, what would you feel? ​

The ferrous sulphate crystals are light green in colour. The gas emitted has the characteristic odour of burning sulphur. On heating, the colour changes from light green to white. On further heating, the white substance changes to dark brown solid.

Colour of green ferrous sulphate changes from pale green to brown. And emission of two gases sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide which is indicated by the brown fumes which occur!
