heart has two upper and two lower chambers. The upperchambers, the right and left atria, receive incoming blood. The lower chambers, the more muscular right and left ventricles, pump blood out of your heart

the blood simply goes to the gills for purification and is directly sent to the body parts


no intermediate agent is present

also it is found in animals that can endure the mixing of blood to an extend
which do not interfere with there homeostasis
