- the massive Agra fort built by Mughal emperor Akbar on the bank of river Yamuna
- red stone is used for its construction and therefore it is known as red fort of Agra
- Indian and Iranian style of architecture were used for its construction of this fort
- the height of the outer wall of the fort is 70 feet and circumference is about one and half miles.
- red stones were skillfully embedded in the wall that there is not a single crack in the wall
- inside this fort was constructed jahangir Mahal . for its construction Gujarat and Bengal style of architecture were used
- Mughal emperor Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb and spent last day of his life in this fort
