Adaptation in cactus:

 Leaves changed into thin, spine to prevent the water loss through transpiration and

protect the cactus from animals.

 Thick green stem to store water and carry out photosynthesis

 Roots spread out wide and deep to absorb as much water as possible from the soil

 Waxy coating on cactus to reduce water loss
