mechanism of photosynthesis consist of two phases namely light reaction and dark reaction
# LIGHT REACTION
-takes place in grana
- absorption of sunlight by chlorophyll molecules
-energy from electrons is used to form ATP. this is called Electron transport chain
-splitting of water molecules into H n O
- formation of ATP from ADP
- formation of NADPH ( reduced nitonamide adenine dmucleotide phosphate)
#DARK REACTION
-takes place in stroma
- CO2 enters the reaction in reaction
-reduction of CO2 takes place into carbohydrates
- hydrogen is taken from NADPH
- energy is used from ATP
-process of fixation of CO2 called calvin's cycle.
