Mention ill effects of green revolution.

We all know that due to green revolution farmers got a lot of interests and productivity of crops aslo increased.

But, we all know that most of the things which are having advantage would be having disadvantage too.

So come on lets discuss about the disadvantages of green revolution:-

i) The use of pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides increased erosion and pollution.

ii) The space crop covered can be used for forestry too because trees give oxygen which is essential to live.

iii) Increased used of herbicides and pesticides increased the pollution of river side and land side also.

iv) The cut down of trees was increased so that more land should come up for agriculture.

Green Revolution : using modern technology such as tractors, pesticides,         fertilizers and various tool and machinery for increasing the total agricultural productivity. 
1. Green revolution had a major impact on the states of Punjab, Chandigarh, Western parts of Uttar-Pradesh. 
2. There was a vast usage of Pesticides, Hybrid seeds, HYV seeds usage, fertilizers, growing cash crops like rice and wheat. 
3. The advantage was that the farmers could produce more and more yield and get benefited. 
4. increased employment for farmers  

ill effects of green revolution: 
1. There was a lot of land and water pollution '
2. Usage of the pesticides led to the death of useful insects also. 
3. The usage of fertilizers made the land either too acidic or alkaline. 
4. Ground water resources were contaminated due to pesticides. 
5. Soil erosion occurred.
6.  Food obtained from the plants had a lot of unwanted minerals in it. 
7. People in few places were ill due to contaminated food and water
