★ The measure of degree of hotness of an object - Temperature

★ Temperature is measured b a device called thermometer.

★ Normal human temperature is 37°C.

★ Our body temperature is measured by clinical temperatures. It's range is from 35°C to 42°C.

★ Laboratory thermometers are used to measure the temperature of other objects. It's range is from -10°C to 110°C.

★Three processes by which heat flows from a body at a higher temperature to a body with lower temperature are :

✪ Conduction - The transfer of heat in solids.

✪ Convection - The transfer of heat in liquids and gases

✪ Radiation    - For radiation, no medium is required.

★ Conductors    - Materials that allow heat to pass through them easily.

★ Insulators       - Materials that don't allow heat to pass through them.

★ Woolen clothes keep us warm during winter as wool traps air between fibers. It is also a poor conductor of heat.

★ Dark-colored clothes help us feel hot as it absorbs more radiation than light-colored clothes.

★Light-colored clothes help us feel cool as it absorbs less radiation than dark-colored clothes.
