Rudradeva (1158-1323CE):

  1. Rudradeva was the eldest son of Prola-II.
  2. He had the title 'Dayagaja Kesari' and issued coins bearing this title.
  3. He was the first king of the Kakatiya dynasty to declare independence from the Chalukyas of Kalyani.
  4. The victories of Rudradeva are described in Hanumakonda inscription, written by poet Atchitendra.
  5. Rudradeva extended his empire from Bay of Bengal in the east to the Kalyani in the West and Srisailam in the south to Malyavantham on the north.
  6. He was a patron of arts and letters and he wrote Nitisara in Sanskrit.
  7. He built famous Rudresvara temple at Hanamkonda.
  8. Rudradeva built Rudra Samudran at Panagal.
