Answer:

Adeline Virginia Woolf, was an English writer, considered as one of the most important modernist 20th century authors.

Born on 25th January, 1882, Woolf had a most interesting yet sad life.

The seventh child of a family of eight, Virginia's childhood came to an abrupt end in 1895 when her mother died and she had her first meltdown. In 1897, she attended the Ladies Department of 'Kings College London'. In 1900, encouraged by her father, she started writing. She and her brothers, along with some more people formed the famous Bloomsbury Group.

In 1915 she published her first book, The Voyage Out, with the help of her brother's publishing company. Her more famous works include, Mrs Dalloway,  that details a day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway, a fictional high society lady in the post First World War England; To the Lighthouse another one which centers around the Ramsay family, and their visits to the Isle of Skye in Scotland in between 1910 and 1920.

She suffered from mental breakdowns frequently and was institutionalised several times and nearly attempted suicide twice. At the age of 59, on 28 March, 1941, she died by drowning herself in the river Ouse at Lewes
