Answer

  • Distance travelled will be 45 m

Explanation

Given

  • Acceleration = 2.5 m/s²
  • Initial Velocity = 0 m/s
  • Final Velocity = 15 m/s
  • Time = 6 sec

To Find

  • Distance travelled by the bus?

Formula Used

  • v²-u² = 2as [Third Equation of motion]

Where,

»» u is the initial velocity

»» v is the final velocity

»» a is the acceleration

»» s is the distance travelled

Solution

➝ v²-u² = 2as

➝ 15²-0² = 2 × 2.5 × s

➝ 225-0 = 5s

➝ 225 = 5s

➝ 225/5 = s

➝ Distance = 45 m

Another Method

Here we shall use the second Equation of motion

➝ s = ut+½at²

➝ s = 0×6 + ½ × 2.5 × 6²

➝ s = ½ × 2.5 × 36

➝ s = 2.5 × 18

➝ Distance = 45 m
