Acceleration due to gravity on earth is 'g'. What
will be the weight of a person on a planet
whose mass and radius is half as that of earth​

Mass of earth = M

Radius of earth = R

mass of body = m

therefore g acting on the body on earth= GMm/R²

therefore, weight = GMm²/R²

Mass of the other planet = M/2

Radius of that planet = R/2

mass of body = m

therefore, g acting on the body in that planet

= [G(M/2)m]/(R/2)²

= 2GMm/R²

therefore weight of the body = 2GMm²/R²
