there are two phenomena which are like opposite face of same coin...i,e COUPLING AND REPLSN..
when dominant allele for both the charactr are taken from 1 parent it is called as coupling..in coupling there is high tendency of allele to transfer together i,e 7:1:1:7...
where as repulsion phenomena is opposite to it..in which dominant alleles are taken from different pattern hence tendency to remain together increases or we can say tendency to make new combination increases...and ratio comes 1:7:7:1...
if u will see more clsely u will get little hint of linkage...where as rplsn give idea of recombinsn....hence we can say linkage and replsn was firstly observed by batsn nd punnt...bt they didnt get the idea what they seen....bt linkg nd rcmbnsn was exlpained by morgan..
