First of all, I wanna ask you that do you believe in god.

This was because lords can change their bodies and can transform into other bodies.

Similarly, Lord Krishna told that Lord Parshuram wasn't prepared for the Kalyug as no one will understand anything from him due to which Lord Shiva ordered him ( Parshuram ) to stay on Earth by transforming himself.
