We all are acquainted with the Sanskrit saying,
" KARAGRE VASTE LAKSMIH KARAMULA SARASVATI KARAMADHYE TU GOVINDAH PRABHATE KARADARSANAM."
{. On the tip of your fingers resides Goddess Lakshmi, on the base of your fingers resides Goddess Sarasvati, on the middle of ur fingers resides Lord Govinda ( which we recite while looking at our palm ) }
It narrates the importance of our hands,
As it is for us,Indians,this saying holds true- "Apna Haath Jagannath".
Well,there are a few convictions and facts associated with this tradition of eating with bare hands!
Some might say, it is unhygenic .But, tradition explains it in opposite way "Eating with hands not only feeds our body but also feeds our soul"
According to Ancient Ayurveda, all the nerves connected to the main parts of our body are interlinked and end at the hands and feet. Certain postures apply pressure on the connected parts and make them function superior. We also relate it to the Acupuncture method of healing and postures (mudras) in classical dances like Bharatanatyam. Though these mudras are usually overlooked here are some of the mudras and the tenets associated with them.
