solids occupie large place and have large particles of matter which are vibrating in the same place and a solid has a definite shape and some of them can be moulded and the particles of a solid are in a fixed position and tightly packed particles where as in liquids they have loosely packed particles they cannot be moulded and they occupie the place in the shape of the container and they can flow easily that's why liquids have more kinetic energy than the solids
