according to the latest survey by UNICEF, almost half of all children under the age of three are under weight. Malnutrition is one of the biggest challenges the country is facing. Despite many schemes implemented by the government the situation is quite grim. Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper expressing your concern about malnutrition and importance of counselling the parents about junk food and right eating habits(100-150 words)

Sir,

  • This is to bring into the kind notice of everyone that the latest survey by UNICEF projects severe malnutrition and underweight issues among children aged below three years.
  • This is in spite of government’s various nutritional supplementary programs like the Special Nutrition Program, Balwadi Nutrition Program, Applied Nutrition Program, ICDS programs, etc., to eradicate malnutrition among children.
  • Among various causes of malnutrition, improper eating habits seem to be taking a major role currently.
  • Nowadays, children mostly like to eat junk foods and avoids regular homemade foods because junk foods are more attractive and tastier. Most of them are addicted and does not prefer homemade foods.
  • The parents must first be aware of the negative effects that these junk foods cause among children first.
  • While upbringing children in the very young ages only, parents must be careful not to expose the children to such junk foods; instead give only homemade nutritious and tasty food and develop right eating habits and make the children accustomed to it.
  • This way, malnutrition can be tackled easily from the home itself and help to develop healthy individuals.
  • Healthy India, Fit India!

Sincerely,

Mr. XYZ
