The light with a higher wavelength scatters less when compared to the light with a lower wavelength.The wavelength of VIBGYOR is in the increasing order of the wavelength and that is the reason why red colour light scatters minimum amongst all the seven colours.

d) The sky appears dark instead of blue toan astronaut because there is no atmosphere in the outer space that can scatter the sunlight. As the sunlight isnot scattered, no scattered light reach the eyes of the astronauts and the sky appears black to them
