Account for the following: Coal does not burn by itself in air but once imitated by flame, it continues to burn.

Coal does not burn by itself in air, as because coal is in the form of carbon that is non-metal due to exceptional having melting and boiling point, hence it does not caught easily when exposed to air, btw as Coal is a carbon content so when on once limited by flame it continues to burn after reaching its high boiling, melting point and then burn continously
