Acid in the stomach can dissolve razor blades. Why doeant this acid eat through the lining of the stomach?

The acid present in the stomach is Hydrochloric acid. It is released by the gastric glands present in the walls of the stomach. These glands also release mucus which does not let Hydrochloric acid eat up the walls of the stomach.
