The strength of the oxy-acids of chlorine increases in the order HClO <HClO2 < HClO3 < HClO4. Perchloricacid, HClO4, is supposed to be the strongest of all known simple acids. For the oxy-acids of any non-metal, higher the oxidation number stronger will be the acid.
