Acids contain hydrogen. water too contain hydrogen but it is not an acid. give reasons?

Acid releases H+ ions in aqueous solution.Base releases OH- ions in aqueous solution.Water contains both H+ and OH- ions in it.Therefore it is neutral.
H+ + OH- ----------> H2O

Because water contains both acid and base. So it is neutral.
