Acknowledgement of solid waste

The study of solid waste management is increasingly becoming more and more important in

the present time in all the countries. For any work to be successful the contribution of people

involved are crucial. I take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt gratitude and acknowledge

the help, support and guidance of many individuals and institution .This thesis is actually the

outcome of my supervisor professor Debashis Das of Department of Geography, Visva –

Bharati, Santineketan. Without his useful valuable suggestions from time to time, it was not

possible to complete this thesis. He always inspired me in every way of my life. I am really

thankful to God that I got the chance to work under his supervision.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my former teachers for their support, guidance and

suggestions over the year. I am thankful to respected sir Sri Shyama Prasad Kundu for his

support and suggestions.

I extend my gratitude to Mr Tapas Makar of Burdwan Municipality for showing me around,

helping me meet the right people and answering all my questions with a cheerful smile.

I am thankful to my colligues mainly Dr Asoke Kumar Jodder, Sri Debasish chakroborty of

Hatgobindapur M C High School for their constant encouragement and support.

I also owe my heartily thanks to all the staffs of Department of Geography, Visva-

Bharati,Santineketan for their constant support .

I am thankful to Sri Priyabrata Mondal of Department of Geography for preparing the maps

for this thesis.

I acknowledge my gratitude to my family for their constant effort and encouragement. My

father (Sukdeb Mondal), mother (Pratima Mondal), father-in law (Pranab Kumar Deb),

mother-in law (Ratna Deb) and my wife (Debjanee Deb Mondal) who are the main sources of

inspirations for anything in my life. I have no hesitation to confess that my wife sacrificed a

lot for me. My little cute son Debjit is my strength of mind.
