Swachh Vidyalaya is the national campaign driving ‘Clean India: Clean Schools’.
The main motive of the campaign is to create awreness among the students for the necessity of cleaniliness in surroundings, maintaining personal hygiene, clean water.
It is emphasised on the sanitation, proper hygiene to produce a healthy school environement and to support hygiene behaviours.
The technical components include use of soaps and hand wash in the school compounds.
The human development components are the activities that promote conditions within the school and the practices of children that help to prevent water, hygiene and sanitation related diseases.
Since school is the place where the students can be taught regarding maintaining hygiene and therefore more emphasis has to be given in the schools for clean India.
