THE ACTION OF GASTIC JUICE AND BILE JUICE IS COMPLEMENTARY.

explanation:

  • GASTRIC juice is secrated by the gastric glands present in the wall of the stomach which releases mucus HCL and protin digestive enzymes called pepsin. The HCL create an acdic medium which help in action of pepsin and mucus protect the stomach from HCL

  • The bile juice is secrated in small intestine by liver the food which is left from the stomach to intestine is acidic and need to me made alkine as many enzymes does not act of the acdic medium and these are large globules in which enzymes cannot act properly hence, bile salts present in bile juice break down the large globules to small globules for the better action of enzymes to digest them

hence the action of bule juice and grastic juices are complementary

Gastric juice consists Pepsin, Rennin , gastric lipase and HCL. Bile juice is of alkaline in nature which helps in fat emulsification. Hence together they help in digestion of food.

  • Pepsinogen is secreted by peptic cell which with the help of HCL, secreted by oxyntic or parietal cell, gets converted into pepsin and breaks protein into peptones and protease. Rennin in infants helps in digestion of milk protein and gastric lipase helps in breakdown of lipid into monoglyceride, diglyceride and fatty acids.
  • Bile juice has no enzyme of its own but helps in fat emulsification which means it breaks down large fat globules into smaller fat globules which makes it easy for enzymes to work on and hence efficiently digesting the food.
