Actions speak louder than words.
Explanation:
The proverb "actions speak louder than words" has a very deep meaning to it. We often come across situations in life when we fail to act what we profess. In other words, we fail to practice what we preach. Though we tell others that this is wrong and that is right, when it comes to us acting on it, we fail miserably in practicing them.
On the other hand, in the story "Thank You, Ma'am", Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones did not talk much or did not scold the boy who tried to steal her purse. She instead choose to help him, clean him up and feed him. This proves that she wanted the young boy to learn his mistake by doing good to him.
Most of the time, we say that we must do this and that. However, when it comes to reality, we run away from it. We usually forget to 'walk the talk'. We should learn from Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones that it is better to help someone through actions rather than scolding and shouting at them.
