Active Voice refers to a sentence in which the subject is performing the action.

Passive Voice refers to a sentence in which the subject undergoes the action. In other words, it is writing the sentence in reverse order.

Example: She is visiting her parents. (Active)

                Her parents are being visited by her. (Passive)

NOTE: Sentences that convey habitual actions cannot be changed to passive mode.

1. How much money do you save in a year?

  • How much money is saved by you in a year.

2. The boys are making much noise.

  • Much noise is being made by the boys.

3. Are you improving your vocabulary?

  • Is your vocabulary being improved by you?

4. Who is knocking at the door?

  • The door is being knocked at by whom?

5. What are you searching for?

  • What is being searched for by you?

6. Boys are not holding a debate in the  school hall.​

  • A debate is not being held by boys in the school hall.
