ACTIVITY 2: "Let's Measure and Compute"
Materials: meter stick, two bottles with label A and B. timer, 3 models member of
the family)
Procedure
1. Look for a place in your house where you can walk for 10 meters from one point to another
2. Assign three members of the family who can walk from starting point to the 10-meter
point
3. Put the bottle A at the starting/reference point and bottle B at the 20-meter point
4. Let the model number 1 walk in normal pace from bottle A towards bottle B while the
timekeeper takes note of the time in seconds. Record the number of seconds that the model
has walked from bottle A to bottle B.
5. Let the model number 2 and 3 do step 5 and record the number of seconds.
6. Record the distance and time of each 3 models on the table below them compute for the
speed. Speed can be calculated by dividing the distance covered by an object in motion by
the time spent to cover the distance. It can be expressed as Speed = distance time

Questions:
1. How is the speed of objects in motion measured?
2. What units are used to express the speed of an object?
3. Who among the models have the fastest speed?

Answer:

Heat is the form of energy that is transferred between systems or objects with different temperatures (flowing from the high-temperature system to the low-temperature system). Also referred to as heat energy or thermal energy. Heat is typically measured in Btu, calories or joules
