Take small ice cubes in a beaker. Insert the thermometer into ice cubes
in the beaker. Observe the reading of the thermometer. Now start heatin
the beaker keeping it on a burner. Observe changes in the thermomete
reading every 1 minute till the ice completely melts and gets converte
into water.
What changes do you notice in the reading of thermometer as tir

Does the temperature of the ice change during the process of melti
You will observe that the temperature of ice at the beginning is e
to or below 0°C. If the temperature of ice is below 0°C, it goes on chan
till it reaches 0°C. When ice starts melting, you will notice no chan
temperature though you are supplying heat continuously.

Answer:

This happens because ice takes time to melt down even if heat is being continuously supplied.

The temperature will change after sometime.

Answer:

at first the temperature of ice will below 0 degree because melting point of ice is 0 degree at which it starts melting . As this question told thermometer degree will increase slowly one by one and at last it doesn't stops it can rapidly increase to 100 degree till it evaporates

if you want sudden change in the state of ice then put some water in a jar boil it and put the ice in it after few seconds it will change to liquid state.
